With having experience using E-learning/E-class during the summer I may have doubts about E-learning in elementary. I have no problems if elementary would use E-learning for a resource but there are problems with using E-class/E-learning in elementary especially grades one through four.
One of the problems of E-class/E-learning is that the students from grades one through three could forget there usernames and passwords easily and students are required to have an email to receive anything about there assignments for the day.
Another problem that encounters E-class/E-learning is that why would you go to school if you have a website were education is?, it may be a good resource when you are sick and that you can not go to school you can go to the website and learn your lesson there, there is another problem about this site is that when you don’t get the lesson for the day you don’t have a teacher to ask right away, instead you have to email the teacher by E-learning/E-class programs it may take at least a day for the teacher to respond.
There are great educational games that are related to the lesson for that day, the teacher has to make sure that the game for that lesson is related to it. Everyday the teacher asks the students a question in email through there the student must answer the question daily, if the student didn’t then that means that the student did log on.
There are videos that teach the lesson , that is the main part before they move to the next step. There are assignments for the students to submit afterwards.
It may take awhile for elementary students form one through three to use E-class/E-learning but in other grades it could work.
So the question is: would E-learning work in Elementary?
I doubt that it would work through grades one to three but otherwise it’s a great resource when you are sick and at home doing the work you missed because you wouldn’t need it if you go to school everyday and you are learning from a live teacher.
